Export Compliance and Licensing Specialist

Job Overview

Lenovo is looking to hire a Trade Compliance Classification Analyst to join our growing worldwide Global Trade Compliance team. Responsibilities will require knowledge of U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Wassenaar Arrangement Dual-Use List.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and improving internal processes on classifying Lenovo's products for hardware, software, and technology.
• Assigning export control classification numbers (ECCNs) to software, technology, integrated circuits, electronic assemblies, and computer systems primarily described in Categories 3, 4, and 5 (Parts 1 and 2).
• Support global shipping transactions and dispositions.
• Working with Lenovo cross-functional teams to improve work efficiency related to classifications and departmental projects.
• Assisting in audits/assessments for ECCN classifications and prepare and present audit reports with findings and recommendations for improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or computer science (or equivalent experience).
• Familiarity with advanced level of classification concepts (ECCNs, CCATS, EAR, Licensing Jurisdiction Determination, Export Licenses, Encryption and Wassenaar, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience in export classification in the high-tech industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of U.S. EAR and other export control regulation jurisdictions.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and SAP/GTS.
• Open to challenges, new ideas/change, and able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals and work well as part of a team and independently.
• Critical thinking and excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Effective written and oral communication. Strong attention to detail.
