Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. Plant Manager Location: Cherokee, AL Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager to join our team! The Plant Manager - Electronics Gases is directly responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of a functionally integrated gas manufacturing, purification, packaging, and distribution site. The Plant Manager must assemble and lead a high-performance team, driving performance around key measures including safety, regulatory compliance, quality, profitability, and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager serves a critical link between the manufacturing site, internal customers, and the corporate and commercial business functions. What you will be doing:
Direct responsibility and accountability for site personnel safety, capital assets, and the environment. Responsible for the emergency response team preparedness and incidents including safety of site personnel, the surrounding community, and for communication to emergency services and Linde support personnel. Manages overall site security and compliance with Department of Homeland Security regulations; must be able to develop a security approach which meets the intent of the regulations and ensure site compliance to related policies and procedures. Periodic updates and maintenance of security systems and procedures are expected. Interfaces with and oversees third party regulatory entities. Manages both electronic gases exacting quality requirements as well as compliance to FDA GMP manufacturing. Lead and participate in local safety programs and initiatives, ensuring completion of regularly scheduled site safety meetings, active site safety commitment and identification of leading and lagging indicators. Responsible for the proper and timely handling and reporting of site incidents and near misses, conducting root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions. Direct responsibility for recruiting, building, developing, and leading a high performing team, with talents and characteristics that allow achievement of site and overall Linde goals. This is a start-up greenfield plant. Manager will build the entire team from the start. Accountable for efficient and on-time delivery of manufactured products including production planning and personnel scheduling, the evaluation of existing resources, supply of raw materials, and distribution of finished product to multiple external and internal customers across the US. Develop expertise regarding domestic shipping regulations and comply with all relevant shipping regulations and procedures. Manages national distribution of products through local staff, distribution staff, and third-party carriers. Visibly lead and demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement for products produced in the facility while maintaining data in the facility quality system. Continually to strive to meet customer expectations and promptly take action to correct discrepancies; effectively prevent recurrence with quality incidents. Develop and maintain relationship with internal customers as well as commercial team supporting external customers to help define and steer business opportunities, hosting plant tours, providing assurance and data to current and future customers regarding process capabilities, capacity, and distribution integrity. Serves as primary interface and responsible party for customer audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop a yearly budget, periodically review against established standards, and report variances to Operations Management. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices to vendors and contractors. Partner with and manage the remote engineering team to execute plant engineering projects meeting cost, schedule, and scope commitments.
Qualifications
What makes you great:
A bachelor's degree engineering is required. Experience in Specialty or Electronic gas or medical gas operations is desired. Experience in operations management or supply chain management is strongly recommended. Management experience of 2 or more years is a must Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD Basic working knowledge or ability to learn SAP Demonstrated commitment to SHEQ policies and principles Strong record of building and developing high performance teams Experience controlling and monitoring budgets. Quality management experience in an environment with a focus on process control and continuous improvement, preferably in the ISO or TS framework.
