Job Summary
This position is located in Chicago, IL and will be part of the Critical Experience Program.
This individual is an emerging expert in strategy-related and/or transformation activities and a growing leader on the team without specific direct reports. This individual will support leadership by delivering projects related to strategy development, planning, and implementation to help drive growth, improve the affordability of our products and services, and transform our operating model enabled by technology. Key responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:
- Support work effort on strategic/planning/implementation projects that assist senior leadership and HCSC Board of Directors priorities.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and synthesize information, generating insights and strategic implications (internal, market, competitor, etc.).
- Initiate framing strategic options and developing recommendations on path forward, grounded in strategic analysis.
- Collaborate with identifying initiatives, developing roadmaps, and creating and refining business cases.
- Monitor implementation, assess progress, and escalate issues with a perspective on where help is needed from leadership.
- Support development / coordination of presentations, communications, planning materials and other strategy-related documents that are both internally- (e.g., HCSC Board and leadership materials) and externally impacting (e.g., rating agency briefing book/presentations).
- Maintain and grow a set of cross-functional relationships, particularly at the leadership level, to achieve goals and desired outcomes.
- Work with leadership to ensure alignment among corporate, line of business / plan, and functional strategies.
What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?
- Master's Degree or MBA with healthcare industry experience or consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm.
- Graduation date between December 2025- June 2026
- Strategy Development/Planning/Implementation:Knowledge of corporate strategy and/or transformation core skill sets; experience formulating, planning, and/or implementing strategy and transformative efforts.
- Analysis/Synthesis/Insight Generation:Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, provide insights and implications, inform decision making, and make recommendations/prioritize new opportunities to pursue.
- Critical Thinking/Problem Solving:Ability to proactively identify and resolve complex problems with some oversight.
- Project Management:Experience managing complex projects with some oversight.
- Collaboration and Interpersonal Effectiveness:Ability to build strong connections with people and teams, drive results by working across the matrixed environment, and work directly with leadership with some oversight.
- Communication Skills:Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and visual channels.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, MD, JD, or PhD.
- Experience in the healthcare industry, especially the health insurance sector.
- Experience with corporate strategy, growth, product, transformation efforts, technology-enablement, or business case development
- Ability to work within a very fast-paced, quickly evolving organization and manage multiple, complex priorities.

Base Pay Range$110,000.00 - $198,600.00
