Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank

Biological Technician, Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, OH. Perf accurate & timely processing, testing & resulting. Prov preventive maintenance, QC & customer serv. Maintain tech & computer skills req in lab, incl phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, reporting & storage. Coordinate couriers for transport of specimens & supplies. Perf preventive maintenance, supply upkeep & QC w/appropriate doc, coordination & communication. Maintain knowledge of techniques, procedures & protocols lab-wide & w/in lab section. Prov quality patient care. Maintain safe environ. Process devt & improvement w/in dept, incl participating in QA, continuing educ programs, dept meetings & special projs. Min. req incl: Bachelor's in Medical Lab Sci or a Chemical, Physical or Biological Sci, plus 1 yr of exp, incl exp in Transfusion Service lab setting (combo of tech expertise, analytical skills & deep understanding of blood banking principles).
