Under the direction of the Lab Manager, the Clean Room Technician works within the Islet Lab and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sterility and compliance in the lab environment ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Essential Job Statements

Performs cleaning operations under strict cGMP guidelines.

Micro-clean all surfaces within the controlled environment, including walls, floors, and equipment.

Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) precisely.

Maintains cleaning documentation as regulated by lab SOPs.

Identify deviations and inconsistencies in cleaning protocols and report to Lab Manager or other designated lab staff.

Participates in continuous training, including cGMP training, technical skills, safety, and performance improvement.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety requirements, including mandated PPE practice

Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and reports shortage or expiration of reagents proactively.

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: Previous experience in clean room environments or laboratory settings is a plus.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Familiarity with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements.

Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be required to use physical restraints. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. *

May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials. * Prolonged periods of working alone.

* Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
