DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will for answering calls and emails regarding the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) policy, eligibility, and procedures. Duties include providing technical assistance on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Access to Social Services (COMPASS) website and MyCOMPASS PA mobile application to those applying for LIHEAP online. Additionally, you will connect citizens to other community resources that may assist or supplement available services when a household is not eligible for LIHEAP, has exhausted their LIHEAP benefit, or has an extraordinary need that we cannot meet This is a full-time, seasonal position, typically lasting 6 to 8 months during the fall and winter seasons, designed to support clients wishing to apply for heating assistance.

- Seasonal, full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Seasonal employment runs from approximately October to April but employment may begin as early as September and last until June.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
- Travel and overtime: As needed
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time after successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
- Hourly Rate: In some cases, the starting hourly rate may be non-negotiable.
- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general office work which included interviewing the public; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
