Job Duties |
The
ECU, College of Nursing is seeking a full-time Administrative Support Associate to provide program support for the College of Nursing (
CON), Department of Baccalaureate Education. The primary purpose of this position is to support the
CON Baccalaureate Education program, department chair and undergraduate faculty. The Administrative Support Associate will assist with the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate office, serving as the receptionist for the Department of Baccalaureate Education. The job duties can vary widely, not just from job to job, but from day to day. The employee also shares the responsibility of supporting approximately 50 faculty in the department. Responsibilities are carried out for the department, primarily administrative functions such as submission of college and university forms, preparation of travel reimbursement, recording and preparing minutes of departmental meetings and the typing of confidential material such as faculty evaluations, personnel letters, and other items that should remain confidential within the department. The person in this position is responsible for ordering textbooks for all faculty in the undergraduate department upon request and when new faculty are hired. A department orientation notebook has been established and needs to be updated each semester to be distributed to all new employees in the department. The person in this position is responsible for collecting and posting grades at the end of each semester for the entire department which also requires confidentiality. The person in this position is responsible for maintaining the undergraduate department calendar, assisting with the coordination of departmental meetings, and serves as back-up administrative support and scheduler for the department chair.

Minimum Education/Experience |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
- Above average knowledge of computers, software programs and medical terminology
- Excellent public relations skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively with faculty, staff and students.
- Ability to function independently with minimal instructions.
- Progressive office experience preferably in a medical setting with managerial training and/or experience.
