Job Duties |
Reporting to the Director of Track & Field / XC, this position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
40% Operational Management & Logistics
- Day-to-day Operations: Overseeing the daily administrative and operational activities of the track and field/cross country programs.
- Budget Management: Handling and tracking the program's budget, including expenses for travel, equipment, and other needs.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations, including student-athlete eligibility standards.
- Scheduling: Coordinating practice schedules, competition dates, and team meetings.
- Facility Management: Liaising with event staff for home meets, assisting with facility needs, and potentially managing locker room assignments.
- Equipment and Supplies: Managing the ordering and inventory of team equipment and uniforms.
- Travel Coordination: Arranging and managing all aspects of team travel, including flights, buses, hotels, and meals for competitions and recruiting trips.
- Communication: Distributing travel information and other critical communications to student-athletes and staff.
40% Student Athlete Support & Team Functions
- Academic Progress: Monitoring the academic performance and eligibility of student-athletes, working closely with academic support staff.
- Student-Athlete Well-being: Coordinating with athletic training, strength and conditioning, and nutrition staff to support student-athlete training regimes and needs.
- Mentorship: Building positive relationships with student-athletes and providing mentorship as needed.
- Event Promotion: Working with facility and game operations staff to promote home track and field events.
- Community Relations: Engaging in community outreach and fundraising activities to support the program.
- Alumni Engagement: Potentially assisting with alumni events.
20% Coaching:
- Recruitment Support: Assisting the head coach with coordinating recruiting efforts, including managing the recruiting database, contacting prospects, planning official visits, and ensuring compliance with recruiting rules.
- Oversee: Student Managers that assist the program for practice & Competition.
- Videographer: Responsible for coordinating video for Practices & Competition.
- Training and Conditioning: Assisting with implementing training programs to enhance athletes' physical conditioning and performance

Minimum Education/Experience |
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution required.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire. |

Prior collegiate participation and/or coaching experience are preferred. |
