We have an opportunity for a Territory Sales Manager to join our Pool & Spa business, managing the upstate New York territory! In this individual contributor role, you will own your territory and sell Pentair's highly successful products & brands, including pool cleaning systems, pumps, heaters, automation systems, and more. You will sell primarily to and through authorized distributors, professional dealers, and pool installers/servicers, effectively utilizing marketing programs and promotional material, leveraging field resources, and providing technical product training.

** This job posting is for one territory sales position that will include most of New York, southwest Massachusetts, and western Connecticut. Ideal candidates will live in or near one of the posted metropolitan areas with the ability to travel across the territory 50-60% of the time. ** #LI-Remote

You will:

  • Manage and grow assigned Pentair businesses by identifying and nurturing new and existing key relationships with channel partners, including pool distributors, builders, dealers, as well as service and retail customers.
  • Build relationships with key channel partners and influence sales of Pentair products and services by holding regular technical presentations, training seminars, and/or providing on-site support.
  • Promote Pentair's products & brands effectively utilizing marketing programs, leveraging field resources, and distributor and end-user product trainings.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of our products across the entire professional channel / portfolio to address customer needs and promote brand awareness and preference among our distributor partners.
  • Analyze customer specifications to determine proper product applications and/or accessories, provide expertise and recommend solutions to application and performance problems related to pumps in the field.

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Have 3-5 years of professional sales experience, including an ability to manage a territory and sell mechanical / engineered products.
  • Experience in the swimming pool industry and have electro-mechanical skills and ability to train others, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations on our pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, or automation systems.
  • Experience working with indirect sales environments, especially with channel partners and/or distribution networks preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize, plan, meet difficult deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, follow-up, and documentation skills.
  • High energy, self-starter, and goal oriented. Eager to meet and exceed goals and targets.

Travel:

  • 50-60% overnight travel to dealers, distributors, customers, events, tradeshows, and other business-related meetings in the territory.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated total target cash (TTC) range will be from $92200 - $171100 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as sales incentive bonus.
