Overview

Summary of Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant performs various clinical and administrative duties in support of the in-take, examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Medical Manager, Medical Director, and APRN/Physician Assistant.

Medical Assistant Duties and responsibilities:

    Performs patient care, administrative and environmental responsibilities as assigned
  • Conducts CAOHC certified Audiological Testing, Phlebotomy, Pulmonary Function Testing and Drug Testing
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications
  • Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Works and communicates cross departmentally
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Hours:

Shift schedule is 1:30PM-10PM with rare instances of coverage on weekends



Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school, Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician training OR 2 + years' experience in a medical setting providing patient care

Preferred:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • CAOHC and phlebotomy certification
  • Drug testing experience
  • Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
  • Previous experience in occupational clinic / medical setting
