What You'll Do

As the Assurance Audit Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring that safety and environmental performance, systems, and equipment are regularly audited and reviewed to identify trends, measure progress, and assess compliance. You will be responsible for leading, and managing the implementation of the DNL HSE Management System by planning, coordinating, and executing the HSE audit protocol and program. Other duties include:

  • Responsible for helping the planning, leading, and coordinating compliance initiatives and best practices across North America in the areas of regulatory requirements and licensing, site security, and the storage and transportation of explosive products and components.
  • Support the DNA GM HSE in the deployment of the HSE Management System in Dyno Nobel Americas (USA, Canada and Mexico)
  • Provide leadership in the deployment and implementation of the HSE Management System and procedures.
  • As lead auditor, responsible for all aspects of the HS Management System auditing process and all DNA assurance auditing activities (regulatory compliance, environment. H&S, engineering, corporate, etc.: auditor development, scheduling of audit teams, and follow-up on audit actions.
  • Establish auditing schedule based on risk data from the HSE database.
  • Build a collaborative team environment with other HSE professionals and line management.
  • Provide training for line management and HSE professionals regarding the implementation and effective management of the HSE Management System.
  • Assist in the management of HSE Management System documentation in Onbase or similar document management system.
  • Foster and demonstrate the company values.
  • Actively participate in global HSE initiatives and foster relationships throughout the organization.
  • Present assurance audit results to Zero Harm Council.
  • Support the management of the regulatory and compliance processes and requirements in North America.
  • Support the Director Regulatory and Compliance DNA at providing regulatory interpretation, technical support and advice to the business unit management on regulatory requirements and inspections
  • Help develop systems to assist business unit locations in maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct audits relating to regulatory compliance when required.
  • Plan, lead and obtain regulatory approvals for new, major projects when required.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with industry associations and regulatory agencies and work with them to validate and provide input on current and proposed regulations.
  • Support the management of ATF licenses, DOT Registrations & Permits, and other federal regulatory licenses in the US.
  • Acquire and maintain required training as listed in the Learning Management System.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in related business related discipline.
  • Good working skills of Microsoft Office programs
  • 5+ years in assurance, compliance or HSE management.
  • Knowledge and experience with the storage, transport and security regulations pertaining to company products.
  • Good working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, ATF and EPA regulations. Experience in Canadian and Mexican related regulations a plus.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Additional clearances such as Transportation Security Administration (TSA) TWIC, Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) Security Clearance, etc. may also be needed and a plus
  • Possession or acquisition of a current passport.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
