What to Expect
As an Electrical Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing electrical construction projects from start to finish. You will collaborate closely with the Design team, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project completion on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively will be crucial as you coordinate and facilitate various aspects of the construction process.
What You'll Do
- Manage project buy-out processes, including creating bid packages, collaborating with procurement to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), responsible for creating and managing contracts and Scopes of Work, contract adherence, and Change Orders
- Oversee and direct critical electrical of infrastructure construction projects to ensure completion according to drawings and specifications, delivered on schedule, and within budget while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, local authorities, and industry standards
- Coordinate with project superintendents to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Collaborate with the design team, architects, and engineers to review plans, specifications, and drawings; expedite resolutions to design conflicts while coordinating the best path forward
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reporting
- Ensure all electrical installations and systems meet or exceed quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices; supervise inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems; manage commissioning processes, including system testing, outage coordination, troubleshooting, and final client handover; deliver comprehensive documentation such as as-built drawings, training materials, and operation manuals
- Track site execution and inspections to ensure work is performed according to safety guidelines and quality standards
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience leading construction projects in large-scale manufacturing or industrial settings, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, and network systems
- Deep expertise in the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for mission-critical environments, encompassing power distribution, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), substations, and lighting solutions
- Proficient in project management and design tools, including MS Project/Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Excel, document control systems, and model viewing software
- Minimum OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA) and industry best practices
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated through a proven track record of navigating challenges in complex projects
