At the Hanford Site, Omega supports Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) in its mission to safely execute cleanup, operations, and compliance activities. By delivering subject matter experts with deep DOE and nuclear industry experience, we ensure safety basis compliance, effective oversight, and knowledge transfer to staff and operations teams.

Omega is seeking a highly experienced Nuclear Safety Engineer to support CPCCo's nuclear safety programs at the Hanford DOE site. This position provides technical expertise in developing, implementing, interpreting, and enforcing facility Documented Safety Analyses (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR). The successful candidate will bring extensive DOE nuclear safety experience, a strong understanding of 10 CFR 830 requirements, and demonstrated ability to mentor and train safety staff in a complex, high-hazard nuclear environment.

• Support CPCCo nuclear safety activities associated with DSA and TSR development, implementation, and compliance oversight.
• Prepare, review, and verify implementation of Nuclear Safety Basis, DSA, and TSR documents and requirements.
• Provide technical expertise in the resolution of Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Determinations.
• Conduct factual accuracy reviews of Safety Evaluation Reports (SERs).
• Perform nuclear safety-related assessments and facility walk-throughs.
• Ensure compliance with DOE nuclear safety orders, regulations, and USQ guidance.
• Support CPCCo in routine and ad-hoc reviews, assessments, and oversight walk-downs to evaluate program adequacy and implementation.
• Provide USQ screenings, determinations, and categorical exclusions for work control documents, procedure revisions, modification packages, and other identified changes.
• Deliver training and mentoring to nuclear safety staff and operations personnel on nuclear safety programs, policies, and practices.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
• Minimum of 15 years in the nuclear safety industry.
• At least 8 years directly as a Nuclear Safety Engineer as defined under 10 CFR 830.
• Extensive experience supporting DOE nuclear safety programs, including DSA/TSR development, USQ evaluations, and compliance oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and support technical staff and operations personnel.
• Must hold an active DOE Q Clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed technical reviews and mentor staff.
• Proven past performance supporting DOE or NNSA missions of similar size, scope, and complexity.
• Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
• Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field.
• Education equivalency accepted: two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education.

Desired Skills:

• Previous DOE experience.
