IT Helpdesk Support Position Purpose

Responsible for providing IT support for company issued hardware and software for the employees of Kirby-Smith Machinery.

IT Helpdesk Support Essential Functions



  • Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
  • Provides technical assistance to internal customers
  • Troubleshoots printers and scanners
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Tracks requests and fulfills procurement requests with 100% accuracy
  • Sets up cellular devices and provides cellular device assistance
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Consistent and reliable on-site attendance


IT Helpdesk Support Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Vocational school Preferred
  • Have a clear understanding of computer hardware, operating system, application troubleshooting skills, setting up and troubleshooting cellular devices
  • Understanding the basic functions of VOIP phones
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced, and at times, stressful environment
  • Adaptable and motivated to learn and retain knowledge of various tools, applications, and systems.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and precise attention to detail
  • CompTIA Certification preferred


IT Helpdesk Support Physical Requirements



  • Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors
  • Physical ability to stand and walk throughout the workday
