About the Role
Join a mission-driven team dedicated to ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate therapy. As a Healthcare Intake Specialist, you will play a critical role in qualifying orders for medical devices based on payer requirements and clinical criteria. You'll act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and third-party payers to ensure compliance and reimbursement. Key Responsibilities * Verify insurance coverage and clinical eligibility for therapy. * Ensure timely and accurate order qualification and release. * Collaborate with sales teams, prescribers, patients, and internal departments. * Communicate patient financial responsibility when necessary. * Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures. Required Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED. * 3+ years in insurance authorization, verification, or medical billing OR a bachelor's degree in healthcare. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Proficiency in Excel and general computer skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with health insurance claims, billing, or authorization. * 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ideal Candidate Traits * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. * Strong customer service and relationship management skills. * Self-motivated and disciplined to work in a hybrid remote setting. * Skilled in interpreting payer requirements and clinical documentation. Work Environment * Must be local to San Antonio, TX. * Hybrid remote with quarterly onsite presence (Mon-Thurs). * Equipment shipped in two parts; accessories must be picked up locally. * Must have hard-wired internet connection (no Wi-Fi). * Shift: 8-hour shifts between 7 AM-8 PM (Mon-Fri); occasional Saturdays based on performance. Employee Value Proposition * Contract-to-hire opportunity (conversion based on performance and availability). * Potential to remain on contract for up to 2 years.
