We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Authorization Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the prior authorization process for medical services, ensuring timely and accurate approvals, and supporting both patients and clinical staff in navigating insurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities: * Verify patient insurance eligibility and determine authorization requirements for procedures, tests, and referrals. * Submit and track prior authorization requests to insurance providers, ensuring compliance with turnaround standards. * Document authorization approvals, denials, and follow-ups in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. * Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance representatives to resolve authorization-related issues. * Collaborate with referral coordinators and care teams to ensure seamless coordination of services. * Monitor and report on authorization trends, delays, and opportunities for process improvement. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or healthcare certification preferred. * Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical authorization, billing, or insurance coordination. * Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., EPIC) and familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment #westpriority25 *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
