The Salvation Army Columbia Corps is looking for a full-time Business Manager. This individual will to enhance the ministry of Columbia Salvation Army. Assist the Corps Officers and program supervisors/ managers regarding personnel issues, policies, and other issues affecting the business operations of the Corps.

This is a 40 hour per week exempt position.

Essential Functions



  1. Operational Oversight:

    1. Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to assess operational efficiency, compile reports, and analyze data to guide improvements.
    2. Guide facility upkeep, repairs, and maintenance, including working with vendors and contractors for large-scale projects.
    3. Assists Corps Offers with emergency crises leadership and necessary interventions to ensure the continuation of programming and services.






  1. Finance & Contracts

    1. Plan, monitor, and manage budgets, control expenses, and ensure responsible allocation of resources.
    2. Ensure all monthly financial obligations and invoices are submitted for payment in a timely manner.
    3. Process and ensure compliance with relevant contractual funding authority, governmental, and licensing guidelines and requirements.
    4. Processes funds per Salvation Army policies and procedures and assures coordination of records.






  1. Team Leadership and Management:

    1. Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
    2. Conduct regular performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and facilitate constructive feedback to promote individual and team growth.






  1. Additional Duties:

    1. Create and maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with others. This would include but not be limited to such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors, and clients; respect of others' person and property; and professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors, and subordinates.
    2. Conduct tours of facility as needed.
    3. Participate in seasonal and emergency disaster training and response as needed.
    4. Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.
    5. Support the mission of The Salvation Army and its programs by treating every client and colleague with individual respect and dignity, and without discrimination of any kind.





Education

High school diploma with at least one year of college-level business or administrative training, plus two years of related experience in business, finance, accounting, or management. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and email. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Acumatica) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP) is preferred.

Must be a self-starter with sound judgment, capable of handling multiple projects with minimal supervision, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, supervisory ability, and experience working with a variety of personalities are essential. Candidate must demonstrate commitment to The Salvation Army's mission, possess a working knowledge of accounting standards and computer networking, and be able to make informed decisions based on diverse input. A valid driver's license and the ability to pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check are required.

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Training - Level 1


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to speak, hear, and see; demonstrate manual dexterity; bend, squat, walk; sit for up to 8 hours per day and stand for up to 4 hours per day; lift, pull, or push up to 25 pounds. Physical and Working Conditions: Duties may include but are not limited to: communicating effectively (speaking, hearing, and seeing), using hands and fingers for tasks requiring manual dexterity, bending, squatting, walking, sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day), standing for up to 4 hours per day, and occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
