Minimum Job Requirements
- Physical- Generally sedentary work. Some light lifting may be involved. Proficient in the use of a PC keyboard with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for supervising a team of Inspectors and Quality Technicians. Perform annual performance reviews. Authorized to recommend to hire and terminate inspectors with Quality Manager approval in compliance with company policies. Authority to pass or fail parts based on customer requirements. Prepare and requisition routine Quality supply items. Authorized to audit processes and provide corrective actions. Responsible for ensuring the quality of product being inspected and measured is performed accurately. Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Day-to-day direction of Quality inspectors and technicians.
- Manage assigned employees including performance evaluations, training, development, mentoring, work assignments, problem/conflict resolutions, job assignments, work prioritization, hiring and terminations in accordance with HR policies.
- Support Quality Management System audits.
- Assure all procedures are followed by assigned employees.
- Support the Quality Manager in the continual improvement of processes.
- Provide regular communication to the Quality Manager.
- Perform inspections and part measurements of products when fluctuating workloads or employee absences warrant additional support.
- Provide training and mentorship to inspectors and technicians.
- Support development and initiation of methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of internally- and supplier-produced parts and assemblies.
- Complete FAIs, PPAPs, and similar documents, as requested by the Quality Manager.
- Support Root Cause Corrective Action efforts
- Lead or assist investigations into process or product Quality issues.
- Perform First Piece Inspections, as requested.
- Provide quality metrics, as requested.
- Oversee the functioning and maintenance of departmental equipment, measurement instruments, and infrastructure for proper operation.
- Ensure statutory, regulatory and environmental regulations are met within the department.
- Communicate and demonstrate company policies and values.
- Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
- Other ad hoc duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9000).
- Disciplined problem-solving skills to assist in root cause analysis knowledge.
- Experience in resolving internal and external quality issues.
- Experience in the fundamentals of quality. E.g., inspection, gauge measurements, calibration, audits, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate teams to obtain high levels of performance to accomplish goals.
- Knowledge of basic measurement equipment. E.g. calipers, micrometers, scales.
- Advanced computer and writing skills. Skilled in the use of Word and Excel.
- Ability to read, understand and explain schematics, blueprints and/or technical manuals.
- Effective communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or another related field, preferred.
- Five Years in Quality in a manufacturing environment
- Three year's supervisory or team lead experience
