Job Summary

As a Resident District Manager, you'll lead a large multi-unit dining account, serving as the primary client contact and managing overall operations. You'll drive strategic planning, team development, and performance goals while supporting our mission to feed kids and serve the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a diverse team, ensuring excellent service to clients, students, and the community.

  • Build strong client partnerships and drive KPIs (profitability, safety, engagement).

  • Serve on district leadership, sharing best practices and fostering inclusion.

  • Make informed short- and long-term decisions with team input.

  • Champion a culture of transparency, education, safety, and accountability.

  • Represent Chartwells at key client and community events.

  • Ensure client satisfaction, retention, cross-sell opportunities, and rebid support.

  • Oversee key operational areas: safety, marketing, nutrition, culinary.

  • Maintain compliance with USDA, company, and all regulatory standards.

  • Conduct audits to ensure food safety, sanitation, and policy adherence.

  • Lead talent development, performance reviews, and succession planning.

  • Manage financial performance, including forecasting and reporting.

  • Apply policies and procedures consistently and fairly.

Required Qualifications
  • Meet USDA Professional Standards for education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree + 3 years' management experience (foodservice/hospitality/support services).

  • Strong foodservice and business acumen; proven leadership and customer service.

  • Skilled in critical thinking, communication, multitasking, and organization.

  • Inclusive, professional, and resilient mindset.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Note: Occasional travel required.
