Purpose of Position

The courseware project manager is to oversee the development and delivery of courseware content, ensuring it meets quality standards and deadlines. They coordinate with instructional designers, developers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to align course materials with learning objectives.

  • CPM: Courseware Development - Manage courseware development and major revisions to support introductory product and new aircraft instructional curriculums. Manage courseware improvements and errata assuring standards for errata correction and regulatory compliance.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with Centers, Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Developers and vendors to ensure timely development and/or review of products.
  • Create schedules and communicate expectations for completion of assigned projects.
  • Manage/monitor project scope and resource requirements ensuring tasks completed within assigned budget/timelines.
  • Evaluate progress based on project milestones, manage risks, and escalate when appropriate.
  • Verify courseware currency and status for all assigned training programs and confirm accurate distribution of classroom content to approved server.
  • Adhere to established specifications and product standards ensuring coordination with Courseware Project Standards team, as applicable.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with product specifications, technical, regulatory, and quality design and delivery standards.
  • Manage all products in project management and courseware content systems, acting as the local administrator for distribution of FlightSafety's proprietary content.
  • Oversee product acceptance activities throughout all development phases.
  • Work with MOTP to resolve issues/risks related to currency of revisions, technical requirements, and OEM publications.
  • Understand training delivery environment and work towards best practices in partnership with other stakeholders.
  • Maintain currency with relevant technical tools and applications to ensure appropriate skillsets for ongoing projects.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred, and five (5) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • If internal, minimum of 18 months in current position.
Minimum Experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience within Project Management
  • Must have minimum of 2 years with proven experience leading projects with an associated credential such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Adobe and other design-based software and content management applications.
  • Knowledge of classroom, flight simulator and aircraft training techniques and procedures.
  • Expected to strive for Project Management excellence and lead internal initiatives for improvement
  • Skills in managing on-time, on-budget deliverables against project scope.
  • Skills in courseware design and technical writing.
  • Skills in leading diverse employee groups to complete projects using onsite and remote collaboration tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to interact with all levels of management in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM and technical documents, contracts, and drawings.
  • Ability to drive, obtain passport and occasionally travel to support fleetwide programs.
  • Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read, and write.

The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
