OPEN RECRUITMENT

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to handle the receipt, storage, and issuance of specific supplies, materials, and equipment to all MDTA Police personnel. This is storekeeping and clerical work in a maintenance shop or supply storeroom at the Maryland Transportation Authority. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Receive deliveries, check items for accuracy and damage;
  • Stock the storeroom with inventoried items;
  • Process storeroom supply requests;
  • Deliver received items to the appropriate police detachment/unit; and
  • Research purchase orders and inventory discrepancies.

The position requires the physical ability to bend, lift items weighing up to 30 pounds, and to stand for extended periods of time.

The employee receives supervision from an MDTA Warehouse Supervisor or other designated supervisor. The current vacancy is located at the Francis Scott Key Bridge facility in Baltimore, MD.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a state high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of clerical experience in receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, or equipment in a storeroom, warehouse, or other supply storage facility.

1. An offer of employment may be conditioned on the result of a medical examination by the agency physician in order to determine the candidate's ability to perform essential job-related tasks.

3. Due to emergency service performed by this position, mandatory overtime or emergency call back may be required if the work situation so demands.
