Operations Specialist University Research Services & Administration Georgia State University Panther Innovations Panther Innovations (PI) at Georgia State University works to ensure that great ideas find their way out of the lab and into the hands of the people who need them. It plays a critical role in developing and protecting the intellectual property of the Georgia State research community. The office makes new discoveries available to business, industry and trade partners, driving economic growth and providing an opportunity for the public to benefit from research breakthroughs. The Operations Specialist is responsible for much of the "behind-the-scenes" work with Panther Innovations and works closely with the Panther Innovations licensing staff, colleagues in the Office of Legal Affairs, and the Georgia State University Research Foundation finance team. The transfer of innovations to companies that can create products is how GSU's research has a real-world impact on our community and the world. The work is challenging and engaging, and you will work with stakeholders across GSU's campuses and federal agencies. The Operations Specialist is a crucial member of the Panther Innovations team and works closely with faculty, licensing associates, legal affairs, GSURF, OSPA, other university partners and licensees. They handle overseeing operations of the data management system (Inteum-Minuet), patent docketing, licensee invoicing and compliance, legal expense tracking, and federal compliance. This position reports directly to the Director, Panther Innovations. The essential duties and responsibilities of Operations Specialist are the following:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing or similar field of study and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience and/or training. Preferred Hiring Qualifications: Experience working in higher ed, research administration or technology transfer preferred. Familiarity with patent law, the patent process, or accounting a plus.
