Purpose

The University of Texas School of Law's Alumni Relations and Development office (ARD), in partnership with the law school's central Marketing and Communications office (LMAC), seeks a Communications Coordinator to produce and distribute effective, clear, and results-oriented communications for the law school's alumni and donor communities and aligned with the law school's strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination & Cross-Team Collaboration
    Work with ARD and LMAC teams to align communication schedules and branded assets for events, fundraising campaigns, and engagement initiatives. Track timelines to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. Attend ARD meetings as a communications liaison, ensuring proactive, transparent updates with stakeholders. Maintain and oversee the ARD communications calendar to support alignment across projects.

  • Digital & Print Production
    Plan, design, and distribute alumni and donor communications across digital platforms and print media. Build and schedule email campaigns using tools such as Eloqua and Emma. Coordinate proofing, production, and distribution for accuracy and timely delivery. Design materials-including mailers, posters, event collateral, presentations, and digital graphics-for ARD initiatives. Monitor engagement metrics to refine effectiveness. Maintain shared content archives in collaboration with team members.

  • Writing, Editing & Content Support
    Create and adapt content across email, web, social media, and print for campaigns, events, and alumni engagement initiatives. Ensure messaging is on brand, strategically aligned with institutional priorities, and tailored to enhance engagement. Coordinate with stakeholders to gather feedback and manage the review and proofing process.

  • Web & Social Media Support
    Maintain the alumni website and ensure all content-including text and graphics-is accurate, current, and consistent with Texas Law branding. Manage updates in WordPress and oversee flagship event websites in Cvent. Collaborate on social media planning and content development to engage alumni audiences and reinforce institutional priorities.

  • Administrative Support
    Handle administrative duties including vendor coordination, responding professionally to inquiries, staffing events, and other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Other related responsibilities as assigned.

Sample Projects and Campaigns include, but are not limited to:

  • Annual giving campaign, running 9/1 -8/31

  • Alumni reunion, a year-long fundraising and participation campaign culminating in a weekend event

  • Alumni Awards dinner gala

  • Scholarship celebration event

  • Approximately 15 regional alumni events across the country

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field

  • Strong computer and digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Proactive, collaborative, collegial, and detail oriented

  • Excellent writing and editing skills for marketing and development communications

  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar software

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with donor software systems, email marketing platforms, website management (e.g., WordPress, Cvent)

  • Strong content development, superior understanding of language, and familiarity with AP Style

  • Extensive experience with graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience in digital marketing, including creating and deploying surveys

  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com)

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, use of manual dexterity. Lift and move standard office files and supplies. Wear appropriate office attire; accept supervision. Hybrid remote work may be allowed at the full discretion of senior managers and supervisors, though on-site work for conferences, events, and other business needs is to be expected. Work hours may include occasional evenings, weekends and some holidays during peak periods to meet deadlines.

Employment Eligibility:
