The Position

The Opportunity:

As the Calibration Technician, you will work as part of a team and support the organization with initial compliance and ongoing preparation, testing, and monitoring of conformance to established quality assurance processes and standards for calibration. You will be responsible for performing calibration and evaluation of internal controls, communications, and periodic review of documentation as related to compliance with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

You will identify deficiencies and/or failures while working with internal departments/business units to appropriately remedy them.

Who you are:

You must apply advanced knowledge and skills to complete assignments requiring judgment and initiative, understand the implications of work, and make recommendations for solutions. You will receive little instruction on daily assignments and may determine methods and procedures for new assignments.

Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Performs calibration in accordance with respect to departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Identify measurement errors and contributing factors that may result in inaccurate measurements.

  • Performs routine maintenance on instrumentation in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.

  • May perform evaluation of internal controls, communications, risk assessments.

  • May perform periodic review of documentation as related to compliance with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Issues department communications including any reporting required for tracking instrumentation.

  • Initiates Out of Calibration Reports (OCRs) for failing instruments.

  • Calibration of instrumentation will require occasional work in cold temperatures

  • Ships, Tracks, and Receives deliverable instrumentation.

  • Processes calibration documentation within the calibration database.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma plus minimum of 5 years prior experience in calibration of equipment or other relevant experience; OR Associate's degree plus 3 years prior calibration experience

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Quality Management system (ISO,GMP)

  • Experience working with databases such as SAP and RAM

  • Understanding of basic statistics

  • Strong computer and math skills

  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel

  • Proficient in customer service skills

  • Technical writing ability

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Capable of lifting (50 pounds) unassisted

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Indianapolis, is 55,000.00 - 102,100.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
