Computer and Data Science Online (CDSO) within the Department of Computer Science administers UT Austin's nationally ranked, at-scale graduate portfolio: the Master of Computer Science (MSCS), Master of Artificial Intelligence (MSAI), Master of Data Science (MSDS) and a stackable four-course Graduate Certificate in AI/ML (CAIML). Together these affordable, high-quality programs enroll several thousand working-professional students each year and extend advanced technical education to a wide, varied audience.

Purpose

The accounting support specialist provides accounting support and financial data management for the CDSO program, including managing income and expenditures, and providing responsive communications that keep program finances and operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor accounts, code transactions, and perform monthly reconciliation

  • Qualityassure financial data and prepare exports to Salesforce/Power BI

  • Manage accounts receivable - prepare invoices, review credit card vouchers and process payments for large-scale programs with thousands of students.

  • Monitor and respond to inquiries from students, employers, faculty, staff, and other UT offices regarding payments and finances with independence, clarity, and professionalism

  • Manage accounts payable - process payment vouchers for vendors and independent contractors

  • Support the work and functioning of the CDSO team, assist CDSO Director and Assistant Director with administrative duties

  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in commercial or governmental accounting. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

  • Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts, analyze data, and solve problems with attention to detail in a fastpaced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UT systems including DEFINE, Workday, and FRMS

  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Smartsheets

  • Familiarity with Cognos, Tableau, PowerBI or similar reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of UT Austin business procedures and financial regulations.

Salary Range

$65,000+ depending on qualifications
