Position Highlights Parking & Transportation Services is seeking a dedicated Parking Enforcement Officer, Lead to help ensure safe and accessible parking across campus. This role plays a key part in upholding university parking regulations, supporting daily operations, and coordinating enforcement during high-profile public and private events.

Reporting to the Parking Services Manager, this position provides team supervision, assigns officers to special events, manages schedules, and works closely with campus partners to ensure parking compliance. The role also includes documenting property damage incidents and maintaining regular communication with university departments and contractors.

Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, but is subject to weekend shifts and various hours. Schedule may be adjusted to meet operational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Embodies the University's and Parking & Transportation Services' Purpose, Mission and Core Values on a daily basis.
  • Cultivates a culture of service excellence and collaborative teamwork in support of our internal and external customers.
  • Takes leadership initiative by being proactive in solving parking issues and maintaining positive working relationships with our campus partners.
  • Enables and encourages other department teams' success by facilitating successful revenue control and execution of large-scale public and private events on campus throughout the year. Organizes planned and/or short-notice traffic control to facilitate access and reduce traffic congestion to parking facilities during large scale events or peak times on campus.
  • Sets long term goals and objectives for team members to achieve performance standards. Provides direct supervision of Parking Services Officers and Student Parking Services Officers.
  • Delivers high quality, front-facing customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors. Also provides consistent, reliable information and assistance to Parking and Transportation Services' customers.
  • Responsible for coordinating with Appeals, Customer Service, other PTS Teams and external organizations to resolve a variety of customer complaints.
  • Researches and recommends program improvement changes to the Managers of Parking Services.
  • Actively participates in quick-thinking resolution techniques for solving anything from gate malfunctions to extremely irate individuals.
  • Assists in hiring, training, work schedules, and disciplinary actions.
  • Communicates performance expectations, conducts and assists with yearly career conversations and periodic performance check-ins.
  • Motivates the team in working towards a common goal and ensures accountability for performance issues.
  • Assists with the management and review of citations to ensure effective and efficient coverage of campus parking facilities.
  • Performs duties of manager when manager is absent.
  • Dispatched to assist customers for elevated assistance throughout campus.
  • Manages and coordinates general preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of golf cart fleet and golf cart spaces.
  • Knowledge of Campus Parking and Traffic Regulations and able to explain those policies in a professional manner to campus users. Effectively explains parking services' processes to others within and outside of the work unit verbally or in writing.
  • Able to work independently to reach desired outcomes.
  • Manages emergency situations that require immediate parking resolutions, including traffic control and assistance with special events or other situations on campus requiring a response.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role within a parking enforcement or public safety environment.
  • Experience working in a University setting.
  • Proficiency in using parking enforcement software, citation systems, and mobile technology.
