Position Overview

The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of the financial statements. This position will lead the Corporate Accounting Team in managing the day-to-day accounting, financial, and administrative activities. Primary responsibilities include preparation of monthly journal entries, managing the monthly close process, preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements, and supervision of Corporate Accounting staff. The individual will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. The successful candidate will have significant interaction with the Corporate Finance and Operational Accounting Teams as well as with other members of management throughout the Company.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Manage, mentor and coach accounting staff to provide an efficient team to perform assigned tasks.
  • The Corporate Controller will be knowledgeable about all aspects of Project Accounting and each job assigned to the team and be responsible for the following:
    • Manage the monthly accounting close process including review of the monthly results to ensure accurate financial results are recorded.
    • Serve as a liaison with external auditors, facilitating annual audit requests and being the primary contact for onsite audit teams.
    • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for management team and third-party stakeholders.
    • Monitor general ledger and all sub ledgers to ensure all accounts and supporting schedules are reconciled.
    • Provide analytical review of the balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow.
    • Develop, document and implement adequate and effective internal financial controls.
    • Assist internal tax team with workpaper preparation.
    • Supervision of accounts payable processing including intercompany transactions and Corporate cost allocations.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
  • Must be able to manage a team in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Strong GAAP and financial reporting technical skills required.
  • Experience in the construction industry a plus.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Experience with various ERP systems including Oracle, Textura, Procore and Vena a plus.
  • Outstanding team player with good interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
