Regional Fleet Mechanic - OR, WA, CO, WY

The Regional Fleet Mechanic will travel within the region providing mechanical and preventative maintenance duties in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment, trucks, and vehicles at the location and customer sites. The Regional Fleet Mechanic will be the subject matter expert and a support to field operators in troubleshooting and addressing maintenance issues. This is a remote position requiring 75% regional travel within WA, OR, WY, CO and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities and Duties



  • Inspects, maintains and repairs or adjusts parts on equipment, trucks and vehicles.
  • Keeps maintenance records.
  • Orders and stocks for parts and supplies needed for equipment repair or services.
  • Recommends purchases of new equipment and supplies or outsourcing of repairs.
  • Provide phone support to operators and maintenance personnel regarding problem solving and proper operation
  • Provide high level troubleshooting of equipment and performance issues
  • Maintains tools and equipment provided by Austin Powder Company.
  • Performs or schedules all fleet repairs and maintenance with proper documentation to meet regulatory agency and APC policies.
  • Keeps garage and work area clean and organized.
  • Reports employee, vendor or equipment issues to Location Manager.
  • Develops and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and government agencies.
  • Displays work behaviors that are honest and ethical in pursuit of APC business goals.
  • Maintains a safe working environment in compliance with all regulations and APC policies.
  • Completes and maintains a safe working environment in compliance with all regulations and APC policies.
  • Maintains all required licenses and/or certifications needed to perform mechanical duties and operate equipment at the location.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience



  • High school or equivalent (GED) degree


Skills and Knowledge



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product bulletins, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to identify products by sight.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees and customers.


Work Environment



  • Outdoor climate and terrain. Exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is also required to stand; sit; use hands to operate controls, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.


Location



  • Remote position with regional travel WA, OR, WY and CO and surrounding areas
  • 75% travel within region
