Responsibilities

Be part of a fast-paced, high energy, team supporting Strategic Systems Programs Re-Entry Branch on the SLCM-N program as the Lead Missile Systems Integration Engineer. This unique and challenging role requires a strong understanding of both DOE nuclear weapon systems and DoD delivery platforms. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical liaison, managing complex interfaces, ensuring system compatibility, and driving successful integration activities throughout the program lifecycle. The candidate should be intimately familiar with nuclear weapon programs and be able to utilize tools such as DOORS, SYSMYL and Cameo. This position will require the candidate to represent the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings and have a comprehensive understanding of how to lead and manage a project from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the integration of DOE-designed components with DoD missile flight vehicles.
* Lead engineering projects throughout their life-cycle ensuring compliance with applicable government standards.
* Lead and manage the development of interface control documents (ICDs), ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces are clearly defined and compliant with program requirements.
* Interface directly with government customers (DOE and DoD) and external partners, presenting technical findings and building strong collaborative relationships.
* Manage requirements for SLCM-N through the different acquisition phases and translate requirements to design needs.
* Formulate Plan of Action and Milestones for projects and is able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure milestone accomplishments.
* Conduct detailed system-level analysis, including performance modeling, trade studies, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate integration risks.
* Lead working groups as an action officer, compiling all necessary meeting materials and capable of writing technical meeting minutes.
* Act as a customer liaison representing the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings.
* Develop and review documentation and supporting material for technical accuracy.
* Engage in design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements and compliance.
* Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across multiple organizations for work performance.
* Be data and process driven with the ability to identify areas of concern and able to provide recommendations for overall improvement.
* Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's (with 8-10 years of experience) or Master's degree (with 6-8 years of experience) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • The ability to work well within a team and the ability to collaborate on projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to author technical documentation
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • A passion for learning, helping others, sharing team knowledge, and contributing value to the mission in any way possible.

Desired:

  • Prior Submarine Navy Officer.
  • SSP Experience.
  • Willingness to learn and become a subject matter expert with various system engineering tools.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
