The Research Technician I is a full-time position that serves to assist Instructors and Principal Investigators in a research laboratory. Primary responsibilities are to assist in experiments for research projects under supervision of the project head and the PI of the laboratory. This includes collection of and accurate recording of procedures and results, maintenance of databases used in the lab, ordering necessary reagents to conduct experiments, and participation in joint upkeep of the lab. This position requires a person who has Bachelor of Science degree in molecular/cell biology or a related field, pays attention to details, can work independently after training, possesses good verbal and written communication skills, and works well as part of a team. Education Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study and laboratory experience required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Prior laboratory experience, either through academic coursework, internships, or employment 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures. - Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and instruments used in research experiments. - Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and scientific software tools. - Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey experimental procedures, results, and challenges.
