These activities are crucial for aligning with the management's objectives and adhering to the policies and procedures set forth by PennDOT. If you are interested in contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation maintenance in the region, we encourage you to apply today!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of a diverse range of storeroom items, which include equipment repair and maintenance parts, garage and shop tools, traffic signs, lumber, steel, and other materials as designated by management. Your responsibilities will encompass logging all incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as inspecting the quantity and quality of commodities to ensure they meet the specifications outlined in purchasing documents. You will utilize SAP software to manage the receiving and issuing of inventory items, as well as facilitate the transfer of materials between various storage locations and plants. It is essential to ensure that all consumables are properly signed out and that records for employee personal protective equipment (PPE) are meticulously maintained.

Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining the stock areas to prevent theft and damage, restocking incoming inventory promptly, and ensuring that the storeroom and tin shed are kept organized and clean. You will also assist the county purchasing agent in sourcing the availability and pricing of supplies, initiate requisitions for stock replenishment, and review inventory reports to manage supply usage effectively, thereby avoiding overstocking and adhering to turnover rates established by the central office. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Purchasing Agent and Roadway Programs Coordinator to ensure compliance with inventory metrics, conduct monthly reviews of inventory reports, and make necessary adjustments to help the county meet its goals. Monitoring MAPI Inventory reports will also be part of your duties, allowing you to recommend potential improvements to enhance inventory management practices.
