System Engineer

The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Systems Engineer to support our government customer located at Creech AFB, Nevada.

The Systems Engineer provides engineering expertise and technical guidance on system and network design, development, implementation, and testing supporting SOC-E operations.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs and conducts studies to enhance the SOC-E system, infrastructure and mission.
• Provides guidance and direction on data processing, video, and communications systems.
• Coordinates system design changes and related information with the customer, as needed.
• Maintains advanced knowledge of, and provides expertise on, C4ISR architectures/concepts.
• Reviews problem reports and participates root-cause analyses and qualify reviews.
• Prepares programmatic and engineering documentation on system architecture and related structures.
• Contributes expertise to support Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in support of a safe working environment.
• Performs related overall system-level engineering support, as requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelors' degree in one or more engineering or science disciplines or equivalent combination of academic and/or technical training and related work experience or equivalent combination technical and military experience.
• Must possess and maintain a DoD IAT Level II (or higher) Certification.
• Must possess and maintain DoD 8570.01-M IA Certification matched to assigned duties
• Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) or more years' experience in an integrative engineering discipline, including one (1) year in a C4ISR environment.
• Must possess experience with all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, allocation, verification, and high-level system design.
• Thorough knowledge of mission/operations, analysis, requirements definition, and support.
• Thorough knowledge of available hardware, software, and network products and designs.
• Maintains familiarity with QA, CM, and test practices/tools.
• Must possess excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Must be familiar with USAF and DoD C&A policies and directives.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Master's degree in information assurance/technology or related field.
• Three (3) years of ATM architecture experience

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must possess and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI SAP/SAR Security Clearance, as required.
