Job Description
Primary Purpose
Responsible for providing Fiscal and on-sight oversight of SDG&E's interest in the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). Supports SDG&E in decommissioning regulatory proceedings by developing and providing expert financial and \ technical testimony. Work location is at SDG&E and on-site at SONGS. Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders including other co-owners, financial stakeholders, the decommissioning general contractor and regulatory agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for financial and on-site oversight of SDG&E's interest in the decommissioning of SONGS. Represents SDG&E at meetings regarding financial and project activity, schedule and costs.
  • Supports the Company in regulatory proceedings such as nuclear triennial proceeding. Testifies as an expert witness before the regulatory agencies on financial and technical related issues supporting the reasonableness of work completed and costs incurred for the deconstruction project. Responsible for analyzing and understanding the financial and technical activities of the decommissioning cost estimate.
  • Develops and present updates to management regarding financial information, site safety, project risks, budget performance, emergent issues, including California Public Utilities (CPUC) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) rules, and implications thereof.
  • Represents SDG&E as the primary and or alternate representative on the SONGS budget and fiscal committee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties)
Qualifications
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business or related field of study. Required
  • Master's Degree Engineering, Business or related field of study. Preferred
Experience
  • 8 years Relevant experience, including managing large and complex contracts or projects. Required
  • Experience with nuclear decommissioning desirable. Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to develop and write testimony for regulatory bodies, such as the California Public Utilities Commission, or other government entities. Advanced Required
  • Ability to testifying before regulatory bodies, such as the California Public Utilities Commission, or other government entities. Advanced Required
  • Ability to communicate with all levels internally and externally. Advanced Required
