SUMMARY

The person in this position is an ambassador of sorts for the county. Many residents have no other direct contact with county government or the justice system. More citizens come to the courthouse for jury duty than for any other purpose.

The position requires a positive attitude, good communications skills, tact and professionalism.

Among the responsibilities of the job is the random selection, by computer, of panels as requested by the court.

Physical positioning of jurors to be taken to the courtroom. Additional requirements for this position would include sharing all the responsibilities of juror orientation in the Jury Marshalling Room. Assist in daily operations in Jury Board.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and check identification of arriving jurors.

  • Use hand-held scanner to record attendance.

  • Screen hardship requests and consult with First Deputy.

  • Respond to questions from jurors.

  • Shares responsibility for all aspects of daily juror ordering including more than a dozen need to know contacts.

  • Respond to panel requests by selecting the number of jurors requested by the judge, then line up the jurors in the proper order to go to the courtroom.

  • Prepare work vouchers for jurors.

  • Assist in daily operation of the Jury Board.

  • Shares responsibility of coordinating packets and mailing of juror summons.

  • Responsible for Panel Usage reports on a daily basis for monthly AOPC reports.

  • Responsible for tracking jurors assigned to a case for juror payment.

  • Able to work with County computer programs: Jury 2000 Plus and Order in the Court.

  • High School Diploma.
