The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) is seeking to hire a Deputy Agency Chief Contracting Officer (Deputy ACCO) for Outreach and Engagement. The selected candidate will be a member of the agency's senior procurement team and will report to the Agency's Chief Contracting Diversity Officer.

This role is responsible for developing and leading the agency's strategic outreach and engagement initiatives related to procurement and contracting, as part of the M/WBE (Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises) team. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and innovative leader, committed to fostering inclusive, transparent, and equitable contracting practices by cultivating relationships with vendors, industry groups, advocacy organizations, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
-Strategic Outreach: Design and implement outreach strategies to engage minority- and women-owned business enterprises (M/WBEs), small businesses, and other underrepresented vendors.
-Stakeholder Engagement: Develop partnerships and maintain ongoing communication with vendors, community organizations, elected officials, and business networks to promote procurement opportunities.
-Internal Collaboration: Partner with internal program units and procurement staff to identify contract opportunities suitable for targeted outreach efforts.
-Training & Events: Plan, lead, and participate in workshops, fairs, webinars, and training sessions to educate potential vendors on how to do business with the agency.
-Compliance & Reporting: Monitor outreach effectiveness and assist in the preparation of reports related to vendor diversity and engagement metrics.

Preferred Skills

Preferred skills: relevant experience in public or business administration, serving in a responsible managerial or senior supervisory capacity. Extensive knowledge in government procurement procedures, PPB Rules, Mayor's Office of Contract Services (MOCS) guidelines, and other relevant rules and regulations. An experience with approval level in PASSPort and FMS is also preferred.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
