Position: Cath Lab Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager is responsible for ongoing, effective operations and the assessment and improvement of activities. Such responsibilities encompass the internal functioning of the department, which facilitates the functioning of the overall organization. The Manager supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates service excellence competencies.
  • Meets the organization's expectations regarding house-wide requirements.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the provision of departmental services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout NWTHS. Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services. Maintains regulatory compliance as related to Joint Commission, CMS, TDSHS, and the Board of Nursing.
  • Exhibits effective leadership skills through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS vision, mission, strategic goals and values and in accordance with Joint Commission leadership standards.
  • Operates the unit(s) in such a way as to meet the fiscal goals of the organization. Manages customer satisfaction to include patients, families, employees and physicians, through effective communication and appropriate responsiveness to identified issues.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Current licensure/permit to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas OR current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credentialed
  • BSN required or must complete within 2 years if RN
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment
  • This must be obtained prior to providing patient care
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience
  • Appropriate clinical experience

The following are required and must be maintained throughout employment.

ACLS completion within 3 months

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others
  • Ability to remain calm under stress
  • Ability to respond to pages
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information (including financial data) and make independent decisions
  • Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop
  • Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds) grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to work in computer literate environment to include word, Power Point and Excel
