Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying highly scalable, high performance data integration and transformation solutions in Quest's enterprise data platform. You will work on data migration and IT modernization initiatives and with business customers to design large-scale data processing solutions, develop data pipelines optimized for scaling, and designing, building, and implementing data-driven systems to guide Quest's reporting and analytics. This includes developing processes and solutions for mining, acquiring, transforming, standardizing, enhancing, migrating, verifying, and modeling Quest's enterprise data. In addition, you will enable and assist advanced analytics initiatives that are building, training, deploying, and refining AI/ML models that efficiently analyze vast quantities of data to best serve our patient population.

*Please note this position will be hybrid. The position can be based in one of the following locations; Secaucus NJ, Dallas TX, Schaumburg IL

Pay Range: $140,000 - $155,000 / year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to business customers and solve complex data challenges
  • Develop algorithms and processes to transform data into useful, actionable information
  • Support and enable the development of Business Intelligence and Data Science solutions
  • Collaborate with management to understand technology and company strategies
  • Collaborate with other software and data engineers to solve and bring new perspectives to complex problems
  • Collaborate with architecture and lead engineers to ensure consistent development practices
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies
  • Embrace new technologies and an ever-changing environment
  • Perform and support unit and integration testing
  • Drive improvements in people, processes, and technology



Qualifications:

Required Work Experience:

  • Prior Healthcare experience is needed
  • Previous experience working with HL7
  • 5+ years of data development experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the cloud (AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform)
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics)
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-based ETL/ELT tools (Matillion, Glue, Data Factory) and data modelling

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Exposure to version control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Understanding of and willingness to embrace Agile Principles (Scrum)
  • Prior experience in an environment supporting data monetization and data licensing business operations is ideal

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Open mindset, ability to quickly adapt new technologies and learn new practice

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL, Java, Python, C/C++, Scala, Julia, SAS and/or other modern data and analytics programming languages
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating systems (macOS, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris and/or UNIX)
