Job Description

At Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our Colleagues, guests and visitors is an integral part of our operations. The Engineering Manager is responsible for but not limited to the oversight of the guest rooms, guest room technicians, and routine preventative maintenance to meet or exceed Fairmont Standards. This encompasses guest room corridors, breezeways, patios, and exterior building repairs as needed.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for ensuring all guest and colleague related room calls are responded to and repaired within a timely fashion
  • Following up to ensure all SCORE tickets are repaired and responded to as soon as the room(s) becomes available
  • Responsible for compliance with all LQA and AAA standards in regards to the guest room product and service
  • Responsible for the coordinating all room blocks with the assistance of the Front Desk. Room blocks will be used for but not limited to mitigation of guest disturbance or complaints, guest room and building preventative maintenance/repairs
  • Assist with providing guest room related training for service and product, alongside safety protocols and proper usage of PPE
  • Will be required to work weekends, holidays and shift work as scheduled
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Correct and report any fire hazards or health and safety hazards
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies

Qualifications
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications not required but helpful
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2+ years of major Hotel/Resort experience
  • Five years of experience in several areas to include but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, building systems, chilled water systems, kitchen, laundry, pool, fire life safety, preventative maintenance programs & various hotel equipment
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English fluently
  • Must have ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams
  • Must be experienced in the use of various testing equipment
  • On call 24/7 to meet needs of department
