Basic Purpose:
Analyze the profitability of APD's major product lines and programs. Focus on developing reports and analytics to support financial operations and special requests, including cost/benefit analysis, budget/forecast projections, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Assist the Financial Reporting team with the monthly close process through maintaining operational and statistical reports, reconciling, and analyzing results.
***This position will be titled Senior Analyst, Financial Analysis within the organization***

Responsibilities
  • GAAP Financial Projections - Develop APD's long-term financial forecasting including, perform budget to actual analysis
  • Statutory Financial Projections-Develop financial forecasts base on statutory financial principles
  • Financial Analysis -- Support APD's major product lines and programs, including identifying, analyzing, and reporting of profitability and other trends to Management in addition to cash flow reporting, ROE analysis, Capital and ROI reporting, KPI Reporting and Unit Cost
  • Financial Presentation- Develop and design executive-level financial presentations for internal stakeholders including the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors
  • Support the APD Financial Reporting team with the monthly close process through maintaining statistical reports, reconciling, and analyzing results

Qualifications/Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, with a Master's degree and/or CPA certification highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of STAT and GAAP accounting principles
  • Individual must have advanced proficiency with MS Excel including experience with data visualization in Excel
  • Experience translating complex financial data into executive-ready presentations using PowerPoint
  • Experience in SAP Analysis for Office (AFO) highly preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years financial/insurance experience necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server & AS400 query skills a plus
  • Individual must be self-directing, exercise judgment in planning and organizing and must have advanced skills in acquiring data and analyzing results
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $75,000 to $115,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
