The Perioperative Project Liaison will lead a portfolio of strategic projects targeted at advancing the goals of the UC Davis Health strategic plan with an emphasis on Perioperative Division level initiatives that integrate people, processes, and technology. This position will facilitate early-stage strategy and project plan development with senior leadership on behalf of Perioperative Services and, for select projects, be the Perioperative Liaison for the execution phase to project closure. The portfolio of projects will primarily consist of efforts defined within the Perioperative Division, but span organizational boundaries.
Projects range widely in size, complexity, scope and contract value. In partnership with members of perioperative executive committee, the Project Manager will interpret contracts, negotiate changes in the projects, collaborate with consultants, oversee development of plans and specifications, manage expenses, direct the work of project support staff, serve as liaison with all campus departments, and obtain project approvals.
This role will be responsible for ensuring program activities are completed per designated timelines with high quality execution, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines. The successful candidate must posses excellent project management to effectively manage complex projects with critical timelines. Execution of assigned duties requires frequent problem solving and a high degree of autonomy in decision making while also working collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors and other campus departments.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- A valid California Registered Nurse license without restriction for nurse applicants only
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in healthcare architectural design or project management OR medium to large capital projects.
- Two (2) years of experience working with external vendors.
- Demonstrated management experience in a similar setting.
- Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in quality and process improvement methodologies, statistical analysis, and data base management.
- Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and assign work efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff at all levels, and external agencies.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify problems and implement solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical environment, patient/traffic flow, and case containment procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Advanced knowledge of policies and procedure regarding aseptic technique, sterility, and infection control measure according to AORN, CMS, and TJC.
- Knowledge of AORN and AAMI recommended practices.
- Knowledge of health care delivery, including business planning and operations.
- Ability to establish and utilize metrics to support process improvement.

Department Specific Job Scope
The Perioperative Project Liaison is a healthcare project specialist who will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a portfolio of projects and provide support for ongoing special projects within the Division of Perioperative Services. The incumbent will possess excellent written and oral communication skills. In addition, incumbent should be detail-oriented, self-motivated and have the ability to work autonomously while working as a member of a collaborative team.
Anything that has a start and a finish, resulting in a product, is a project and requires the Perioperative Project Liaison to act as the bridge between perioperative senior management and the teams tasked with the actual execution of the project. The project liaison makes sure the scope of the project is sound, reporting regularly on the progress of the project and assures it is staying on the approved schedule.
The Perioperative Project Liaison provides leadership to assigned projects, performs project management administrative tasks., assumes responsibility for the success of assigned projects or portions of projects, adheres to all UCDHS policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice
Directs resources, evaluates, and implements new programs, and contributes to strategic plans and policies that have impact throughout the division and organization.
