This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

As part of a hardworking team of HR professionals, we are seeking a Senior Accessibility Specialist to help lead the design and delivery of accessible, inclusive systems across Blue Origin's people experience, physical worksites, digital tools, and off-planet systems.

This role will report to the Director of Inclusive People Systems and is a senior-level individual contributor role that requires strong expertise in accessibility standards, regulatory awareness, cross-functional collaboration, and system-level thinking. You will partner across HR Centers of Excellence, Facilities, Enterprise Technology, and business units to ensure accessibility is integrated into the way we hire, support, and retain employees, and design for the future of off-planet living and working.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead the "Accessibility for All" Roadmap Delivery & Strategy (40%)
  • Own and deliver Blue Origin's Accessibility for All strategy, driving accessibility in systems, tools, spaces, and programs.
  • Partner with Accommodations, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Enterprise Technology, Data & Analytics, and other HR teams to ensure accessibility is embedded in processes and tools across the employee lifecycle.
  • Monitor accessibility-related risks and collaborate with legal and HR compliance to ensure regulatory alignment (e.g., Section 503, ADA, WCAG 2.1+).
Collaborate Across Product, People, and Physical Systems (40%)
  • Serve as primary accessibility SME for Inclusive People Systems, working with Marketing and Communications, Facilities and Operations to embed accessibility in physical and digital interfaces.
  • Engage with Blue's business units - including New Glenn, New Shepard, Lunar, In-Space Systems, and Astronaut/Mission Experience, to embed accessibility in human-system design across Earth and space environments.
  • Partner with Facilities and ET to assess and improve accessibility across buildings, launchpads, systems, and software.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations that connect accessibility to risk mitigation, user experience, and operational performance.
Drive Standards, Reviews, and Insights (20%)
  • Develop internal accessibility standards and partner with Legal, Learning and Development, Accommodations, Benefits and Enterprise Technology to embed them into policy, training, and governance processes.
  • Conduct accessibility reviews and audits across facilities, websites, portals, and key platforms.
  • Develop metrics, dashboards, and executive-ready insights to track progress, gaps, and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience, including 5+ years in accessibility, inclusive design, universal design, or human resources
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards and regulations (e.g., Section 503, WCAG 2.1+, ADA)
  • Experience conducting accessibility assessments, audits, or program implementations
  • Ability to lead cross-functional workstreams without direct authority
  • Proven track record partnering with HR, facilities, IT, and engineering team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS, IAAP)
  • Experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or high-growth technical environments
  • Familiarity with assistive tech and inclusive design software tools
  • Experience working across enterprise HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Accommodations, Benefits, Data & Analytics, Engineering, ET)
  • Familiarity with facilities, environmental design, or inclusive architecture practices
  • Experience interacting with or consulting HR systems and policies

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $130,518.00-$182,724.15

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
