Systems Analyst / Information Security Specialist - Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Level II

Location: 100% Remote

Position Overview:

LinTech Global is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide high-impact technical advisory support across the Business Solutions Delivery (BSD) and Cybersecurity subtask areas of the IRS-CI TechOps program. This role supports the development and governance of IT systems security strategy, architecture support, and technical review of security initiatives across emerging BSD and cyber modernization pilots.

The SME will act as an advisor during critical execution cycles, governance reviews, and pilot launches-providing domain guidance in security systems analysis, enterprise risk posture, and governance board advisory.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert-level input on cybersecurity implications of BSD solution designs and pilot programs
  • Participate in governance and architecture boards (e.g., ECE and VMO) to advise on IT risk, compliance, and data protection best practices
  • Support CSM and cybersecurity certification readiness for BSD-aligned pilots and tools
  • Assist in reviewing and advising on BSD-aligned deliverables involving systems architecture, access control, or cloud risk posture.
  • Advise BSD leadership and Cybersecurity functional leads on alignment with IRS cybersecurity standards and Treasury directives
  • Provide recommendations for secure-by-design integration within pilot architectures (e.g., role-based access, encryption, security monitoring).


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in cybersecurity analysis or systems security within federal or enterprise IT environments
  • Demonstrated experience advising on FedRAMP, FISMA, or IRS-specific cybersecurity requirements
  • Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle, security control overlays (e.g., NIST 800-53), and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong ability to deliver short-turn guidance and reviews for pilot-phase projects and technical documentation
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain IRS MBI (Moderate Risk Background Investigation) - Public Trust


Preferred Qualifications:



  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent federal cybersecurity certification.
  • Prior experience supporting IRS, Treasury, DHS, or similar federal clients.
  • Understanding of IRS ServiceNow and ECE governance frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of secure cloud architecture and application security design.
