Job Summary

The Acquisition Risk Analyst is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with procurement, contracts, and acquisition activities, to ensure that the acquisition process and procurement activities adhere to federal regulations & contractual requirements, organizational policies, State policies, and University System of GA policies. This role supports strategic decision-making by analyzing financial, operational, and compliance risks throughout the acquisition lifecycle. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that acquisition strategies align with organizational goals and risk tolerance.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
May lead enterprise-level risk assessments for high-value acquisitions, strategic vendor relationships, and sourcing initiatives, identifying potential exposures and recommending mitigation strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

Job Duty 2 -
Design and apply risk management frameworks and decision-support models to guide strategic sourcing, contract development, and supplier evaluation processes.

Job Duty 3 -
Evaluate market trends, global developments, and supply chain risks to inform long-term acquisition planning and proactive risk forecasting.

Job Duty 4 -
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in procurement, legal, finance, and compliance to integrate risk controls into acquisition policies, procedures, and governance structures.

Job Duty 5 -
Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and emerging threats that may impact procurement outcomes, supplier performance, or organizational resilience.

Job Duty 6 -
Contribute to strategic initiatives such as supplier diversification, integration of environmental and social risk considerations, and digital transformation of procurement operations.

Job Duty 7 -
Prepare and deliver executive-level risk briefings and reports, translating complex data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making.

Job Duty 8 -
May oversee compliance activities for major projects, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and applicable regulatory frameworks. Applies strategic judgment to evaluate complex risk scenarios and guide project teams in implementing effective mitigation and compliance strategies.

Job Duty 9 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Four or more years of relevant experience.

Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and customer service skills; ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Organizational & Project Management:
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, with strong time management and organizational skills.

Technical Proficiency:
Competence in using standard business software and tools, including spreadsheets, databases, and procurement or risk management platforms.

Soft Skills:
Strong interpersonal awareness, adaptability, and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and departments.

Training & Guidance:
Ability to support and guide others in compliance, procurement planning, and risk-related processes.
