Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a dynamic Technical Writer / Network Engineer, Sr. to join our team at Malmstrom Air Force Base, MT. This position provides technical documentation support on a classified network, ensuring all content is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with Department of the Air Force (DAF) requirements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in developing, managing, and maintaining technical documents in compliance with applicable standards while supporting network operations and maintenance.



Responsibilities

    Provide comprehensive technical documentation support services for a classified network.
  • Research, analyze, develop, codify, and prepare technical documents to guarantee accuracy and currency for network operations and maintenance activities.
  • Create and maintain a range of materials, including technical reports, training manuals, technical specifications, user manuals, implementation guides, hardware/software specifications, and process/data flow diagrams.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, thorough, and compliant with relevant standards and policies.
  • Manage documentation repositories-cataloging, updating, and maintaining document currency, and ensuring compliance with DAF records management requirements.
  • Conduct research, including interviews with process owners, technical personnel, and users, to gather and verify information for technical documents.
  • Review technical documentation created by other writers, determine and implement necessary revisions, and ensure that all materials fulfill their intended purposes.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Offices, technical staff, analysts, program managers, and customers during the document development process, including the preparation, presentation, and publication of application concepts.
  • Develop and present clear, concise briefings, visuals, and dashboard displays to stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English, Communications, or a related technical field.

  • Clearance: Must hold a Top Secret/SCI with SAP eligibility.

    Experience:

  • 10 years of Network Engineering Experience

  • 4+ years of diverse commercial experience in technical writing, or equivalent formal training.

  • Experience interviewing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and briefing stakeholders.

    Additional Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information for various audiences.

  • Extensive familiarity with technical documentation tools, standards, and styles.

  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational capabilities.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $94,100.00/Yr. - USD $157,100.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
