Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineering lead for our Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground Entry Point (GEP) program. As an I&T lead for our SDA GEP effort, you'll be a critical member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and integrating critical Satellite Communications Ground Systems sites for our SDA customer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Systems Integration and Test Leadership
  • Develops test plans and test procedures to verify system and subsystem requirements
  • Leads formal witnessed test events and produces test reports
  • Develops Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) to map requirements to verification activities, showing how each requirement is tested and validated
  • Coordinates with Systems Engineering leadership and other I&T teams to support test plans and procedure development for enterprise level end-to-end testing to verify overall SDA system requirements and functionality prior to transitioning into formal operations.
  • Support requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under supervision of the lead systems engineer
  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
  • Provide leadership and/or direction to I&T team and other lower level employees
  • Independently determines proposed approach to solutions
  • Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects
  • Plans and executes project tasks for activities described above
  • Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
  • Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups
  • Works under limited direction
  • Frequent contact with external customers
  • Travel may be required during GEP site integration and test activities
  • Provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems
  • Independently determines approach to solutions

Target salary range: USD $146,204.00/Yr. - USD $162,195.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
