Job Description: Temporary Hire Supporting DR#220-25 Job Description Summary: The Hurricane Helene Expanded Recovery Assistance (ERA) Casework Document Reviewer reports to the Hurricane Helene Individual Resiliency and Preparedness Manager and plays a critical role in evaluating and verifying documentation submitted by clients and/or long-term recovery partners seeking disaster recovery assistance. A meticulous attention to detail and compassionate approach will ensure accurate and efficient processing of cases to help clients rebuild their lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The Casework Document Reviewer will coordinate closely with the Hurricane Helene Long-Term Recovery Operation. This is a remote position that is a full-time temporary position working 40 hours a week and expected to last 10 months with an opportunity to extend based on business need. This position is not eligible for benefits. Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Bachelor's or associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot discrepancies and inconsistencies in documents. Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to evolving program criteria and guidelines and comfortable working in a changing landscape and adjusting your approach as necessary. Empathetic and patient approach when communicating with the Long-Term Recovery team. Familiarity with disaster recovery programs, eligibility criteria, and documentation requirements is a plus. Ability to relate well and effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of program or service. Capacity to understand nuances and context of each submission, evaluate documents methodically and draw meaningful conclusions, and applying general program criteria to make sound judgments is essential. Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements. Individuals must be customer oriented, organized, and focused on solutions. Ability to work independently, handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to assess client needs and provide services equitably and consistently. Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
