Interstate Power Systems, an independent distributor for MTU, Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, Carrier Transport Refrigeration, and other leading industrial brands, is seeking our next dynamic leader to join our team as a Regional Vice President. For over 50 years, we have excelled at providing solutions and adding value for our customers, with service excellence as a critical part of our value proposition. We are currently looking for a Regional Vice President to help us maintain our leadership position in sales and operations for our West Region, encompassing Gillette, Wyoming; Billings, Montana; and Williston and Bismarck, North Dakota.

Overview:

The Regional Vice President is responsible for the leadership and oversight of Interstate Power System's branches within the West Region, which includes dedicated branches of Power Systems. Our key markets include mining, oil and gas, power generation, as well as on and off-highway equipment. This position is a key member of the operations leadership team, tasked with supporting Interstate Companies' strategic initiatives, fostering strong relationships with valued partners, driving exceptional performance, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. This pivotal leadership role will spearhead organizational change and development for the West Region.

This role reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Interstate Power Systems.

Responsibilities:



  • Ensure Interstate's Guiding Principles of Pride in Service and customer satisfaction are reflected in all business unit operations and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Deliver profitable operating results by collaborating with other operations leaders to create and implement practices that leverage Interstate's capabilities and resources.
  • Build and maintain a strong team by attracting, developing, and retaining industry-leading talent, fostering an environment that recognizes and rewards excellence.
  • Leverage technology to streamline and enhance processes, ensuring the region and individual branches use data-driven analytics and metrics for efficient execution and superior customer service.
  • Provide direction, methodology, and analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop strategic business relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring quality, value, and exceptional service while continually assessing service acceptance in the marketplace and adapting to meet partners' evolving needs.
  • Work closely with the regional sales team to ensure a high level of sales force effectiveness.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10-15 years of progressive responsibility within the distribution industry in a leadership role.
  • Extensive profit and loss (P&L) experience.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change.
  • Sales management experience.
  • Service management experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including visits to all regional branch locations, customer sites nationwide, and meetings at the corporate office in Eagan, Minnesota.
