In this creative and impactful role, you'll spotlight the incredible opportunities available to our students - from groundbreaking research and global adventures through study abroad, to hands-on experiential learning that shapes future leaders. You'll also shine a light on the tailored support services that help our students thrive, including career development and academic advising.

With 14 degree programs and more than 2,800 undergraduate students united by a mission to create a healthier world, CAFNR is a hub of innovation and inspiration. Your storytelling will celebrate the journeys, achievements and aspirations of our students, helping future Tigers see themselves in our community.

You'll be a key player in a collaborative, creative team, supporting all student recruitment and success messaging. If you're ready to apply your communications creativity with purpose and make a real impact - this is your chance.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing, interviewing and writing student and alumni success feature stories and taking accompanying photographs.
  • Brainstorming and crafting social media campaigns for recruitment alongside our social media manager.
  • Writing student recruitment marketing language for digital and print media.
  • Designing email campaigns for prospective students to learn more about CAFNR and our degree programs.
  • Publishing a monthly electronic newsletter to showcase the robust learning, advising and teaching in our college.
  • Building relationships with the college's undergraduate program coordinators.

This position reports to the director of the CAFNR Office of Marketing and Communications.

Shift

Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, marketing or a related discipline with a strong emphasis in written communication, and two years of related experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborative and self-motivated
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling stories for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff and administrators
  • Comfortable telling stories through photography or other media as needed

Preferred:

  • Experience with photo editing software, WordPress and competent with dSLR cameras
  • Superior editing skills and knowledge of AP style
  • Four years of professional writing and editing experience
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.71 -$26.44/hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
