Summary of Job Duties:The Project/Program Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and maintaining the University's campus-wide physical security systems, including access control, security cameras, parking management, e-phones, security alarms, panic buttons, and related technologies. This position will interface the physical security systems with IT infrastructure, including network and server administration, database maintenance and management, mechanical and low-voltage electrical repairs. The position serves as the key liaison between campus police, facilities management, and IT Services. The Physical Security Systems Administrator role is critical in safeguarding campus facilities, responding to security incidents, and maintaining seamless operations for all physical security measures. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, and one (1) year of relevant professional experience in computer-related applications or a related area; ORHigh school diploma or equivalent, plus three (3) years of relevant professional experience in computer-related applications or a related area.

  • Valid driver's license.

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements upon approval of the qualifications review committee.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience working in a higher education environment and understanding the unique security needs of a campus community;

  • Experience in the physical security-related field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure integration between physical security systems and IT infrastructure, including network and server administration, database maintenance and management, mechanical and low-voltage electrical repairs;

  • Access Control System Administration: Administer, configure, and maintain the campus-wide access control systems (card readers, door locks, and access points) to ensure secure entry and exit to buildings and restricted areas;

  • Manage user access permissions to ensure that faculty, staff, and students have appropriate access to their respective facilities and departments;

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to access control systems, including card malfunctions and user credential problems;

  • Security Camera Systems Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of security camera systems throughout campus, including surveillance monitoring and archiving;

  • Collaborate with campus police to regularly assess the performance and coverage of the camera system, ensuring that areas of concern are adequately monitored;

  • Coordinate with campus police to review footage and respond to security incidents, providing video evidence when necessary;

  • Ensure proper system functionality and adjust camera positions or systems to meet changing security needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of integrating physical security systems with IT infrastructure, building management systems, and emergency systems;

  • Knowledge of physical security systems, security system protocols, and relevant security laws and regulations;

  • Basic proficiency level working with network and server administration, database maintenance, and management;

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with physical security systems;

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle;

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of constituents both verbally and in writing.
