Position Overview
Position Summary |
Reporting to the Director of Student Accounts, this position plays a critical role in the daily financial operations and student account management of the university. This position is responsible for reconciling all daily deposits , and certifying receipts through the North Carolina Financial System (
NCFS). They will ensure that
NCFS and Banner are reconciled, and certified daily for both state and trust funds. Will update the receipt spreadsheet with previous day activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily receipts and certify all deposits (checks, ACH) via NCFS.
- Perform daily reconciliation between NCFS and Banner for state and trust funds.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of annual reporting requirements.
- Manage the bad debt process and oversee student refund processing.
- Submit monthly internal control reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor and manage the collection process for delinquent student accounts.
- Apply financial and university holds to past-due accounts as necessary.
- Respond to inquiries from students, parents, staff, and external partners regarding account balances, payment options, financial holds, and coordination with financial aid.
- Serve as acting lead in the absence of the Director of Student Accounts.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Collaborate with other student-facing departments during weekend sessions and events to support semester preparation activities.
- Assist in the preparation of the university's annual financial statements and accompanying notes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of financial systems (e.g., Banner, NCFS)
- Experience in account reconciliation, collections, and financial reporting
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and lead when required
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service to students and families
